Day 10 - Going Home!

Going Home!

Paleo Trip Day 10 - Aiden C

Us All Together As A Group
We spent day 10 driving back to Houston after a tiring but very fun time in Seymour, TX. Despite hopes for a late morning where we could all sleep in, we woke up at 7:00 am and followed the morning schedule of previous days because we needed to get on the road soon enough to arrive in Houston at a reasonable time. It was a chilly 37° morning and the boys' cabin was sleepy but excited to go home and
return to life in Houston. We all packed up our things and did several checks around the house, making sure nothing was left behind. Once everything was packed and we departed, we arrived at the lodge to find the girls were just as tired but equally excited. As we had a hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, biscuits, and more, small bits of discussion about how the trip had been and what we would do when we got home popped up. We took one last group picture in Seymour at the farm, with all of us standing on the rocks overlooking the fountain in the lodge’s yard, and then we all loaded up into the cars and set off on our seven-hour drive.

Us Coming Home In the Car (Photography By Katie)
As we were all pretty tired, and the drive consisted of a lot of sleeping and reading. In the car I was in we spent a few hours talking about movies and various hobbies that we had, as well as jamming out to music as everyone in the car took their shot on the aux at various points. The drive back felt a lot shorter than the one there, and we stopped only twice; once for gas and once for lunch at Chik-Fil-A. Once the cars pulled into the Post Oak High School parking lot, everybody was excited to see their friends and family and we all helped unpack the bags from the cars and waited for our parents to arrive and pick us up. We got to see some of the students that were at the school during their own M-terms, but most of the end of the day was spent saying our goodbyes and expressing our excitement for the late 10:30 am start the next day.
